Baby Ryan

Well this past week has been baby week at the studio! Ron and Jennifer brought 1-week old Ryan in for newborn portraits, what a great session!

Baby Benjamin

Just a few images from a great baby session I did last week before heading off to the KPPA winter seminar. Benjamin and his mom are over visiting from the UK for a few weeks and this was the first time his American relatives have gotten to see him. I’ll be posting more of Benjamin next week.

KPPA Winter Seminar

This past weekend I attended the Kansas Professional Photographers Association Winter Seminar in Manhattan, Kansas. These events are always a great chance to meet with other photographers from all over the state and discuss the industry, as well as attend some great informational and educational seminars. Joing organizations like these and continuing education in both business and photography are what separates your professional photographers from the GWCs (guys with cameras) out there.

I had a great time, even though the hotel had a few issues.

Tyler Johnson Business Portrait

I’d like to introduce you to Tyler Johnson, a real estate agent with Prudential First Realtors. If you’re looking to buy or sell a home you’ll be hard pressed to find an agent in this area who cares more about meeting your needs. Tyler shares my philosophy of building relationships with clients for the long term and not just focusing on today’s paycheck, which is why he’s already off to a great year in 2009, even with all the talk of the national economic and real estate problems!

Heart to Heart International – Can You Help?

This past Thursday at the Downtown Topeka Rotary Club weekly meeting our speaker was Jon North of Heart to Heart International. At the end of the meeting Mr. North challenged us to spread the message about what they do, so this blog post is my small part in trying to do that. The Heart to Heart International Web Site can probably do a much better job describing their program than I could do here, so please follow that link and use that resource to find out more. You can also see Mr. North’s complete presentation available on our Rotary Club web site and view his slideshow as well.

Another member and I trade off doing the photography for our meetings which are featured in our newsletters, here are a couple of photos from the meeting:

Sapp Family Photo Session

Ryan, Abbie and Annika brought their parents in for a studio family session this weekend and we had a blast! The kids were very well behaved and mom and dad were pretty relaxed, which always helps sessions with children go more smoothly! In addition to all the color photos, I did one of my custom “porcelain portraits” for each of the kids as well. The porcelain effect looks amazing when printed on metallic and fine art papers. Thanks to the Sapp Family for a great time!
